What are your research interests?

Culturally sustaining interventions that support young children at risk for being identified with an emotional or behavioral disorder; special education teacher stress and resiliency; communication behaviors of teachers as a risk or protective factor.

Why are you part of the RISE grant?

It is an opportunity for me to extend intervention research in the field of special education by looking at innovative practices that are not only effective but also honor and transform students, teachers and families. I also embrace the opportunity to collaborate with other scholars on this journey.

Do you prefer sunsets or sunrises?

Sunrises. New day, another opportunity to start again.
